My focus

I tried to study more about the intersection between environmental protection and economic development in the exchange year. At the University of Tokyo, I took many courses on information technology. Information technologies (IT) provide more services with fewer resources, and I focused on applying the technology in aquatic environment protection. I also took various environmental science courses and scientifically studied the case of the Fukushima nuclear accident. I also studied the eutrophication process in the Tonegawa River in the Tokyo area. I analyzed ways to increase oxygen levels in the water to protect the environment and reduce human exposure to cancerous substances via water use.

Courses I took:

  • Environmental science (Radioecology, Earth system science, Aquatic environment, Energy science)
  • Environmental studies (Environmental economics, Environmental law, Sustainable agriculture)
  • Business (History of social responsibility of business, IT and Business)
Living in Tokyo for the first time and going to the University of Tokyo was inspiring.
